Ongoing support

Ongoing export control support

Ongoing export control support: day-to-day questions, classification, screening, licences, compliance programme. A dedicated lawyer, without hiring.

In shortYou export sensitive goods but have no — or not enough — in-house export control resources? I provide continuous legal support: your day-to-day questions, product classification, customer screening, licences and your compliance programme. You work directly with me, a lawyer, without hiring.

Who it is for

  • Aerospace, defence, space and electronics manufacturers and suppliers whose products contain US-origin components or technology.
  • Companies with no export control manager, or whose export control manager works alone.
  • Companies recruiting an export control manager who need to bridge the gap.
  • French subsidiaries of foreign groups, particularly US groups, facing French and EU rules.
  • Exporters to sensitive destinations or customers.

What the support covers

  • Day-to-day questions: a single point of contact, written and reasoned answers kept in your compliance file.
  • Classification: dual-use items, military goods, classification under US law (ECCN, USML).
  • Screening: customers, intermediaries and shareholders against sanctions lists and US lists.
  • Licences and authorisations: preparing applications and dealing with the authorities.
  • Internal compliance programme: procedures, training for your teams, periodic audits.
  • Monitoring: targeted alerts on developments that affect your products.
  • Incidents: support in the event of an inspection, a blocked shipment, a licence refusal or a voluntary disclosure.

How it works

  1. A first conversation to understand your products, flows and customers.
  2. A proposal for scope and terms suited to your volume — fixed fee or subscription — set out in a fee agreement.
  3. Simple day-to-day operation: a single point of entry, written answers, regular check-ins with your teams.

Why me

A former general counsel in industrial groups, I understand your production, lead-time and supply-chain constraints. I teach export controls at Toulouse Capitole University (Executive Certificate co-founded with Airbus) and I am a French Foreign Trade Advisor. I work in French, English and German, and rely on colleagues abroad when a matter requires it.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a minimum volume of questions?

No. The scope is defined with you in the first conversation, according to your flows and needs, and can change over time.

Do you work outside Toulouse?

Yes. Most of the support is provided remotely; I travel for audits, training sessions and important meetings.

What happens when US law is involved?

I analyse your products' exposure to US regulations (EAR, ITAR). Where a US law opinion or a filing with the US authorities is needed, I work with US colleagues.
